Tips for Creating a Modern Farmhouse Tablescape

Tip #1 Make Sure Your Centerpiece Isn’t too Tall

I used a small round vase and created a pretty arrangement from a big box store breaking it down from a larger arrangement to a smaller grouping of neutral flowers. You don’t want your centerpiece to be too tall or you won’t be able to see your guests across the table 🙂

Tip #2 Test Drive Your Tablescape

This depends on what you are making and how casual or fancy you want your tablescape to be – mine is casual and simple (I may have said super and simple too many times in my vlog – eek!).  See my tips in the video here.

Tip #3 Add Farmhouse Elementsmodern-farmhouse-tablescape-year-round-tablescape-grey-white-dining-room-1111-light-lane-1-of-1

To get this farmhouse look add a large round clock, a lantern chandelier, and rustic farmhouse decor. To learn more about our chalk painted dining room table click here. You can shop our dining room sources to get this look within this post and here.

Tip #4 Add Fresh Greenery, Flowers & Keep it Neutral

This simple tablescape can take you through the seasons whether it be fall, winter, or spring! By keeping your items in a neutral color theme it will keep it looking fresh. You can also personalize each place setting with these pretty gift tags that can be used throughout the year. In my tablescape I opted to forgo adding a name but you could add one with a chalk marker for a pretty personalized touch. Another way to get a beautiful look is to add fresh greenery to your tablescape and each place setting. See how I created this look in the video.

Tip #5 Mix Metals

You can see how I mixed silver and gold in my fall tablescape post for under $50. It’s one of my favorite things. Add dimension and interest and use what you have around the house to mix it up. Elements with silver, gold, and copper look beautiful together.
