Cleaning Tips + Products for a Sparkling Clean Kitchen

Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing per your request my cleaning tips + products for a sparkling clean kitchen. Last year I shared how to get your sink, pots and pans sparkling clean in this post.

This cleaning post is timely (spring is around the corner) and I’m confident about my recommendations and that you will love them as much as I do! I use all of these products in my home and I’m working on adding more natural items and removing chemicals.

But life is all about a balance so I’m sharing both options and some background on my cleaning with less chemicals journey…

Develop Cleaning Habits & Routines

So what do I mean by “develop cleaning habits and routines”? We (my husband Dion & I) have daily cleaning habits that help keep our home and particularly our kitchen extra clean. In the morning we wipe down the counters and put away the unnecessary items (coffee maker, blender) and Dion is a champ at doing the morning dishes. We both like leaving the house knowing there aren’t dirty dishes in the sink. These are habits and routines we developed for our home.

Yours may be different but the key is consistency. This helps make cleaning so much more manageable. Sit down with your family and conquer and divide the cleaning tasks for the day. Teamwork makes everything better! Also don’t be afraid to ask for help – it’s hard sometimes but so important! Delegate cleaning tasks and if need be hire someone to help you deep clean once a month – it’s money well spent – trust me!

Cleaning Product Favorites

I have a variety of products I use for our kitchen and I’m linking each one for you. I recently began adding more natural elements to our arsenal of cleaning products. I’m excited about removing some of those toxic chemicals. However, I will say that when we get into the {raw meat in the sink} territory or I need to really sanitize I still reach for my big guns – something with bleach to disinfect! I can’t help it, it’s the nurse in me – please don’t judge 🙂 Here’s a list of what I use for each area.

Dust: Love my quick & easy dusters!

Floors (Vaccum & Clean): Mop & go makes for quick floor cleaning & our cordless vacuum is a dream.

Stovetop: Stainless steel wipes for the win.

Backsplash & Countertops: I use this one and now incorporating my Thieves cleaner.

Glass Globe Pendants, Brass faucet, Cabinets, & Cabinet Hardware: My no chemicals needed super cloth!

Sink: This cleaner helps eliminate scratches and works amazing on pots & pans.

Disenfect: Bleach only when really necessary!

Cleaning Gloves & Sponges: Gloves protect your hands and manicures and these scrubbers are awesome!

Cleaning Without Chemicals: The Almighty e-cloth®

This is in no way sponsored by e-cloth I just really love these cloths and they work for just about everything!! I love that you don’t have to use any cleaning products or chemicals with them – just water and wipe down. Voila – clean! I use these on my cabinets, faucet and glass globe pendants. I’ve been using these for almost 2 years now and I can say they work and are pretty life changing!

Cleaning After Cooking & Stainless Steel

We always clean right after we cook. It’s way easier to get rid of grease and food splatter than letting it sit for a night. The quickest way to clean our stovetop is with our stainless steel wipes. They are pretty magical and I don’t know what I’d do without them! I use a cloth to buff away the residue and it makes it so shiny and clean. These are a must in my book. I use them on my range hood, exterior area of my oven, stainless steel dishwasher and refrigerator.

Reduce Clutter & Create Zones

I’ve shared my kitchen on Instagram stories from time to time in it’s “real” state. Dishes drying, LOL dolls color changing, my diffuser going, meals being prepped – you get the picture. That’s real life! Messes happen but we clean up after and really enjoy a sparkling clean kitchen. Any extra clutter – like papers and mail have a place and they aren’t in the kitchen. I have a designated storage area and drop zone for those so they don’t clutter my countertops.

Creating areas in your kitchen to contain and organize items helps to reduce clutter and makes your kitchen feel 1,000x’s cleaner! I love baskets, our wine holder and shelves – all great to organize and store a variety of items.

Clean Floors Quickly

My favorite new way to clean my floors is with our new cordless vacuum. After a quick vacuum I use our easy spray and go mop and the floors are sparkling clean. It takes me no more than 10-15 minutes!

Cleaning with Essential Oils = Less Chemicals

I’m working on using less chemicals in our home and breaking my candle habit. It’s tough but slowly working. I’ve been using essential oils for several years and decided it was time to try using them to clean our home. My thieves cleaner works sooo good and is safe for pretty much every surface. I use it for our kitchen table, countertops, the girls placemats, Mavis’s dog crate and the list goes on and on. Glass spray bottles are my go-to for diluting essential oils – they are linked for you below.

I also love using my diffuser to eliminate cooking odors and add fresh scents to our home. They are so many benefits. I go into more detail in this post. To get your very own diffuser and Thieves cleaning items you can sign up to get your first kit here. Make sure {14604937} is listed for your sponsor (that’s me 🙂 & enroller ID.

I recommend the diffuser that I have (Desert Mist) that comes with an amazing assortment of oils as a starter kit. The best part about Young Livingâ„¢ Essential Oils is that you don’t have to sign up for any type of auto enrollment. You can simply buy them when you need more you and order at your leisure. When you purchase a kit and become a wholesale member you receive 24% off your future orders!
