Modern + Warm + Organic Christmas Home Tour

Today I’m sharing my modern + warm + organic Christmas Home Tour with you! I’ve joined several talented blogging friends to inspire you this holiday season. And I can’t believe we will celebrate our 1 year anniversary of moving into this house in December! We moved in last year 2 weeks before Christmas and I didn’t have a lot of time to decorate. There were so many renovation projects underway and it was a little chaotic.

Now that we are settled and have made this house our home I can’t wait to show you how I have decorated it for Christmas. You will notice many items from previous Christmas home tours and our last home. I always believe in using what you have and reinventing seasonal decor in different ways adding new items along the way.

There’s nothing like creating new holiday memories in your home and we can’t wait to do that this year! Now join me for my modern + warm + organic Christmas home tour! Find a spot to get comfy while I welcome you to our home for decorated for the holidays.

Modern + Warm Organic Christmas Entryway

Welcome to our home. I’m so glad you are here! Let’s start with the entryway. I’m a sucker for a clean and simple entryway moment. I love adding organic textures like baskets, white berry branches and garland to our entryway table. It makes it feel so welcoming and gives it an organic natural touch. This year I added one of our slim Christmas trees to a rattan basket and placed it in the corner by our front door. I love pop of green and the glow of the lights in our entryway!

Don’t forget to decorate the little nooks and spaces of your home. I created this little festive area in our entryway by swapping out one of our picture frames for a wreath and added this beautiful reindeer and nutcracker snow globe.

I’ve had this noel pillow for years and it’s still on of my favorite items I look forward to displaying every holiday season. Don’t be afraid to repeat and re-use holiday items year after year. Keep it fresh and interesting by changing the location where you display them. You can also update and change the color or ribbons on wreaths and seasonal decor to coordinate with you holiday color scheme.

Modern + Warm Organic Powder Room

Bathrooms are fun to decorate for the holidays! Use garland draped over a mirror like I did for an instant holiday update. Add a pretty towel and soap that smells like Christmas and you are ready for guests!

Modern + Warm Organic Great Room

One of the things I love about our home is the open floor plan and high ceilings. A tall tree was in order for our great room and this year I went with a flocked Christmas tree – for the very first time! I am obsessed with this tree. It is so beautiful and it looks amazing naked (aka a Christmas tree without ornaments). I only added a few warm metallic ornaments to enhance the natural look. I was worried about it being messy but honestly it hasn’t been that bad at all! I’m so glad I went team flocked Christmas tree this year!!

If you aren’t into the flocked look don’t worry – I have Christmas tree decor/ideas from previous years that you can check out by heading here.

Another one of my new favorite holiday items is this pretty brass tree collar. I love how the brass adds a modern yet classic and warm look to our tree.

This merry banner is one I’ve used for the last few years and I’m still not bored with it! I just love how simple and cute it is! I did upgrade my garland this year and went for an asymmetrical look with pine cones and twinkle lights.

Updating your TV art to a festive/holiday print is always a good idea! This cute winter scene adds the perfect holiday touch to our great room.

Combining pine cones and twinkle lights with garland adds a modern + warm + organic touch to your mantel. You can find our mantel diy post by heading here.

Bookshelves make for a great decorating moment for the holidays. Our newly painted black bookshelves were so fun to style for Christmas.

I love creating cozy spots to sip coffee, read a book and relax. This chunky knit throw is the perfect blanket to curl up with on chilly nights.

Heading to the other side of our great room you can see I added faux fur throws, velvet and knit pillows. Soft cozy textures are a great way to add an organic warm feel to a modern space for Christmas.

Modern + Warm Organic Dining Room

Keeping with our modern + warm organic Christmas look I went with gold candlesticks and a white berry garland mixed with pine cones for this simple yet elegant holiday tablescape. I added thin birch logs to one of my vases, garland and a wreath to our sideboard and mirror.

Modern + Warm Organic Kitchen

I like to keep it simple in the kitchen with a wreath over the stove and a few holiday touches.

Warm elements like brass and wood make a neutral kitchen feel inviting. I was drawn to dark chocolate colored Christmas ornaments this year because they compliment the wood tones in our home and add warmth. Instead of using the ornaments on our tree I decided to use them for decor. They look so pretty displayed in a basket next to a lit a candle.

Warm tones of brown look so pretty with the cooler tones of our kitchen. I found a pretty velvet ribbon in a warm brown color to add to my wreath above the stove that coordinates with the other warmer tones of the wood accents in our home.

Holiday Decorating Tip: Use dried magnolia branches and display them in a vase. Tie velvet ribbon to the vase for a quick and easy kitchen centerpiece.

The kitchen has the best view – especially when washing dishes you can see the glow of our pretty Christmas tree!

Modern + Warm Organic Breakfast Nook

Moving on to the breakfast nook. It looks so festive with a mini Christmas tree and wreath. Sometimes all you need are a few simple touches to make it feel festive!

Mavis our welsh terrier understood the assignment. She’s looking so cute with her plaid scarf for the holidays. I can’t get her off all of my cozy knit and faux fur throws – I wonder why?! Ha!

Don’t forget to add pretty candles throughout your home – this one is my new favorite and smells heavenly! And when in doubt add a wreath! A wreath will instantly make it feel like Christmas.
