White Modern Farmhouse Laundry Room + Mudroom with Semihandmade

This post is sponsored by Semihandmade, all opinions are my own.

Today I’m so excited to reveal our white modern farmhouse laundry room + mudroom with Semihandmade. Our tiny laundry room has come a long way and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! We are so excited to partner again with Semihandmade for this project and share how you can achieve a high end look for laundry room cabinets. Adding Semihandmade to IKEA cabinet boxes gives your cabinets an elevate high-end look without spending a fortune! To see our other projects with Semihandmade you can head here and here.

Now let’s take a look at how far we have come!

Laundry Room: Before

When we moved into our fixer upper our laundry room was dated and down right sad looking! We demoed the tile floors and gave it phase I renovation knowing someday there would be phase II.

This space also served as walkway between our garage into our hallway leading to our bedroom and the rest of our home. It was tricky navigating this narrow space with groceries in hand. This space lacked a place to hang purses, backpacks and area where shoes could live. Without a dedicated closet space it was also lacking storage.

We updated the tile flooring, lighting, painted the cabinets black (covering the chocolate brown) and added new cabinet hardware. We also add our white washer & dryer. Definitely an improvement yet still a very small space.

We made the best of it for 2 years. When we began our 2nd round of renovations that including adding on to our existing home we knew expanding our laundry room and creating a mudroom would be such a bonus. I’ll be sharing more of the architectural details the budget breakdown in a future post.

White Semihandmade Door Fronts + IKEA Cabinet Boxes

We desperately needed and wanted a more functional laundry space. We also wanted a larger area where we could enter from our garage and drop our bags, shoes etc. Here in California where our weather is pretty much sunny and warm almost every day you don’t often find mudrooms in homes. Even more reason to add one!  We added a large solar tube thanks to my readers/followers suggestions. This allowed natural light to fill our laundry room and mudroom area since we weren’t able to add windows due to the location of our laundry + mudroom and its proximity to exterior walls.

Our architect did a wonderful job configuring a functional space for us! I designed it to work for our family. By adding IKEA cabinets with Semihandmade door fronts we were able to stick to our budget. Designing the laundry space for functional storage was really important. All of our laundry and cleaning items are nicely tucked away in their own area. Classic white shaker style from Semihandmade for our door fronts ensures the laundry + mudroom space is light, bright and airy.

Let’s take a look at the full reveal! I love that I have a place for my laundry and cleaning goodies. I have so much space in the cabinets and still need to fill them all!

Adding these beautiful cabinet door fronts completed the entire look of our laundry room. I paired them with a beautiful warm copper/bronze cabinet hardware and I love the result!

I added a folding area and a spot for a large laundry basket. There are just enough cabinets for optimal laundry room function and plenty of room to maneuver around the surrounding mudroom room area.

I love how I can organize everything in these drawers. So efficient! Every day we walk into this space it makes me smile. Doing laundry is no longer a chore and believe it or not! I actually don’t mind it all because this space is so calming, open and bright.

I hope I’ve inspired you to tackle your next laundry + mudroom project with Semihandmade + IKEA cabinets! The quality and customer service cannot be beat! You can achieve that designer high-end look and stick to a budget!
