Pink Dresser Transformation

Today I’m sharing my pink dress transformation. I will take you through all the steps on how I turned this vintage and thrifted find to something perfect for my sweet daughters!

One of my first chalk painting projects led me to this gorgeous cherry vintage dresser for only $75 via a neighborhood marketplace! Now I know you may be thinking – don’t touch this pretty thrifted find! However it was in bad shape and my girls have always loved pink (so do I) so I decided to take the plunge and give it a makeover, bringing their pink dresser dreams to life!

I’m including all the easy to follow steps below and including my favorite chalk paint and painting supplies!

Pink Dresser Transformation: How To

Step 1: Clean & de-grease your furniture 1st and then dry with a soft cloth.

Step 2: Line workspace, gather supplies, remove hardware, & drawers

Tip: Keep your hardware if you love it – loved the brass hardware but not the pineapple detail 🙁
Here a couple options I love:
Step 3: Gather your supplies for chalk painting
Tip: I used one coat of paint with Annie Sloan Pure White Chalk Paint. But since I completed this transformation chalk paint has come along way and now this can be accomplished with one-step chalk paint that I’ve linked for you below!
Step 4: Initial coat of Amy Howard One Step Paint in Palmer Pink. I ended up doing 2 coats of paint to make sure it looked even and covered the wood properly.

SavePink Dresser Transformation: Where is She Now?

Since this post was completed (several years ago – 7 years to be exact) this sweet little pink dresser traveled with us to our next home. You can see an updated view in my daughter’s shared bedroom in the picture below. We kept our pink dresser for many years until we moved recently and found her a new home. A sweet family was so excited to have her and will cherish her too!

And our pretty pink dresser was featured on Amy Howard Home’s Instagram – you can see the post here.

Updating this blog post gives me the itch to paint another piece of furniture. I’ve been dying to paint my daughter’s flower side table we bought years ago. Do you have any furniture you would like to transform?

Want more pics of the dresser – see it styled in this post by heading here!

I love chalk paint because it’s so easy to use and can instantly transform furniture instantly! Paint can make a world of difference and I encourage you to give it a try!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

xo, Beth
