Modern Farmhouse Master Bathroom Renovation with Delta: The Process & Reveal
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Delta®. The opinions and text are all mine.
I’m so excited because the day has arrived – I’m sharing our modern farmhouse master bathroom renovation with Delta® – the process and reveal!
We are so happy with the way it turned out! What do you think?!
To fully appreciate how far we have come – let’s take a step back in time to see the before. Here’s what our master bathroom looked like when we bought our fixer upper last summer. I remember standing at the doorway of the bathroom wondering – why the ceiling fan?! Lol!
I always look beyond the choices someone else has made and move on with a vision to transform. While renovating our fixer upper we have learned that things have to get messy, dirty, and torn apart before they get better! I’m here to tell you that the path and process to the “after” is worthwhile. Keeping a positive perspective and outlook is important. I’m sharing this process to inspire you to tackle a renovation, have the confidence to believe it’s absolutely possible and 100% worth the effort!
Modern Farmhouse Master Bathroom with Delta: The Process
I really feel it’s important to have a process when you approach a renovation. First, I created a design board for our master bathroom – you can see it by heading to this post. I chose elements for our master bathroom that were consistent and cohesive with the design of the rest of our home. We also created a budget for our master bathroom renovation and made sure to stay on track!
The design elements for our master bathroom needed to be stylish yet also quality. We did our research and decided the Delta® Trinsic™ faucet would be our choice for several reasons. We fell in love with this option not only for the sleek modern design but also for the water efficiency and functionality. The matte black finish was hands down the best option to compliment the look of our modern farmhouse master bathroom.
The other elements of our master bathroom included a pre-fabricated vanity option. I chose a pre-fabricated vanity to keep within our budget. There are so many great options to choose from. Some vanities even come with Carrera marble countertops like ours.
Here’s a look at our vanity installed and prepping for the next step – installing our tile backsplash to give our vanity a more custom look.
I wanted to customize the backsplash and give our new faucets a really modern, clean backdrop. I love the modern look of stacked subway tile so I chose a white matte 3×12 subway to finish the backsplash of our master bathroom. We continued the tile around the wall adjacent to our vanities to create a wall of tile wainscoting.
As we approached the final stages of our renovation I shared how my handy hubby Dion installed the faucets from Delta. He was able to install them relatively quickly and they instantly transformed the look of our master bathroom! It’s an easy diy weekend project with a huge impact!
Modern Farmhouse Design Elements + Details
Now here comes the fun part – a look at all the details! I couldn’t wait to share them with you. I chose to keep the color palette simple, clean and modern. We included white and black elements accentuated with color and a touch of pattern via a vintage rug. I updated the standard cabinet hardware with a round black modern knob that complements our new faucets. Look at our gorgeous Delta faucets against that pretty stacked subway tile! The contrast is striking!
I love how open and airy it feels in our master bathroom. The clean modern lines withstand the test of time.
I love adding texture and greenery to our home. This rattan tray can corral a variety of bathroom items.
You can see the tile wainscoting from this angle. It really finishes a bare wall and gives more design detail.
We are so fortunate for a window in our bathroom that allows for natural light and a nice breeze. Plants sit on our window ledge and bask in the sunlight.
You can see the knob details more closely here. One of my tricks in updating a pre-fabricated vanity! Update the cabinet hardware that comes with your vanity to something more custom!
Modern Farmhouse Master Bathroom Renovation with Delta: The Full Reveal
I still have “pinch me” moments where I can’t believe this is our master bathroom! We are so lucky and love this space! Using it daily with ease while appreciating how beautiful it is makes the entire renovation process so worthwhile!
Had to share a picture of how cozy it feels with the bathroom lights on!
One last look at the before…
I remember taking this picture during our inspection and having a vision. That vision is now a reality!
We were thoughtful about our choices and selections including our new faucets from Delta for our master bathroom which gave us the ability to transform this space into one we love! I hope I’ve inspired you to do the same. You can’t go wrong with Delta for your next renovation project! Do you have a project you have been longing to tackle? Love it. You did a such a great job. We are building our home and went with delta Trinsic collection for the whole house. Thanks for sharing 😊
Awe thanks so much! and how awesome you are going with Delta Trinsic as well! I bet it will be beautiful! Best wishes on your new home! xo, Beth
This master bathroom is absolutely stunning! I love the Delta matte black faucets – they stand out from the white subway tile! And I love that you used a pre-fab vanity…you would never know…and it saved you tons!!! 🖤🖤🖤
Awe thank you so much Tana! I appreciate your kind words and we are so happy with how it turned out! xo, B
Hi! Your bathroom is beautiful!! Can I ask where you found your vanity?? Thank you!!
Hi! Thank you so much! Yes it should be linked in the post – were you able to see the link?
Great job! What is the wall color you used? I did not see it listed in the source list.
Hi! Thank you so much! It’s Snowbound by Sherwin Williams 🙂
Amazing transformation! Could you give me the details on your flooring?!
Hi! Thank you! They are Johnson Hardwoods – Luxury Vinyl Plank – color is Malibu. They are waterproof and very durable.
Hello, I was wondering with the lighting do you feel it is good enough with just the two lamps?
Hi! We actually have recessed lights as well – you just can’t see them in the picture 🙂 I recommend having both types of lighting.
This looks great! I am wondering the the shower area looks like?
Hi! Sharing that area soon! It’s very simple – large white tiles and a hexagon tile floor.
Hi! Was wondering the same. We are remodeling a very small bathroom off the garage that has a tub. I love the color scheme here so trying to figure what to do for tile and shower trim. LOVE your style!
Thank you so much for your kind words! If you go to the menu you will see from the drop down a before + after home tour post and it has more photos of our master bathroom there that you can see for inspiration 🙂
Hello, what size tiles did you use in your shower? 8 x 16? or 8 x 24? Thanks so much!
Hi! I believe they were 18×24 🙂
What a beautiful transformation! Well done!
What type of mirrors did you use? Are they metal or wood, or?
Thank you so much! I believe they are black wood – here’s the link https://rstyle.me/n/c6q55mb8et7 🙂
HI! Might you have another source for the mirrors the one that is linked is iron and I’m think you mentioned they were wood. 🙂 Thank you!!!!
Hi Kris!
I double checked when we had to take the mirror down for our recent remodel and it appears it is a metal! Thought they were wood but I was wrong…
Love this! Where is your rug from?
Hi! Thank you! It’s an Etsy find – I linked a similar option from the same shop in the post. Hope that helps!
Beautiful bathroom. Could I ask where you found your mirrors?
Thank you! They are linked in the post 🙂 Here’s the link for you https://rstyle.me/n/c6q55mb8et7
Just stumbled on your blog and I think your home is lovely. Do you have photos of the retrofit your bathroom (shower)?
I have pictures of our shower area on my IG stories – I will be sharing updates on the blog of our master bathroom shower area in the future. We fully gutted our master bathroom – the shower area was re-tiled and reconfigured so it’s much bigger – we love it!
Hi! What is that flooring you put down? Is it tile that looks like oak or light-colored wood?
Hi! It’s LVP (luxury vinyl plank flooring) it’s waterproof, scratch proof and super durable. The brand is Johnson Hardwoods – color is Malibu.
How high is the ceiling in your bathroom?
Hi! We have standard 8 ft ceilings throughout our home including the bathroom 🙂 Beth
Where did u get the toilet tissue holder
Lowe’s! 🙂
So beautiful! I just got that target table today after seeing it in your bathroom. It’s so well made. I had been eyeing similar stools that were twice the price, and couldn’t justify it. I love it so much. Thanks for the inspiration!
Awe yay! Love that little table and so happy to hear I was able to inspire you! xo, Beth
Hi! I am curious about the vanity you chose. I notice in the link you added that it has a couple of inch backing to it but in your final photos I see that the subway tiling comes all the way down to the surface of the countertop. How did you get rid of the back? Did you tile on top of it or completely remove it with a special tool. It is hard to tell from the photos. Thanks so much! 🙂
Hi! Yes we took off the backsplash (I believe it comes separately) and added the subway tile to the countertop for a more custom look!
Your faucets aren’t linked anymore:( what color/brand were they!? I love them
Hi! Oh no! I’ll have to update that! They are from Delta – the Trinsic in matte black – we love them!
Hi Chelsea,
Under source list in the post you can click on the word faucets and it will take you to the link – hope that helps!
Love the transformation! I’m a sucker for black and white! Where did you find the lights over the mirrors ? Love those!!
Hi! Thank you! They are linked in the blog post – just click on the icon/photo I provide of them and it will take you directly to the exact ones 🙂
Beautiful bathroom! I am ordering your sconce. I clicked the link and it goes to oil rubbed bronze with an oil rubbed bronze brass shade. Is that correct or should I select the non brass shade? I don’t think yours has any brass on it does it? Thanks!!!
Hi Kim!
So glad we were able to connect on IG and you are going to love this sconce – it’s gorgeous! xo, Beth
After seeing your beautiful bathroom renovation, I purchased the same vanity and countertop. I was wondering if you sealed it and if you did, what product did you use? Thank you.
Oh that’s so wonderful! You will love them! We didn’t seal them but probably should have! I would go with a seal that is safe for marble 🙂
Hey can I ask how you hung your mirrors? I just bought these exact same ones and I’m having trouble hanging them up. Thank you!
Hi! Yes they are pretty heavy so we used hollow wall hangers and measured with a large level marking the 2 spots where the hooks/screws would go. I would definitely go with a sturdy hollow wall hanger!
Are you still happy with this vanity?
Hi! We are 🙂 It’s a great vanity for the price and stores all of our essentials!
I keep coming back to this post on my Pinterest. It’s so pretty. What is name of vanity? When I click in link it goes to page of vanities. I’m so torn between brown or white wood vanity.
Hi! Thank you for your kind words! If you wait for the links to load (I tested the link) it will populate our exact vanity. I love the classic look and all of the storage!
I really liked your bathroom design. I didn’t see the tub or shower.Did u put in a glass shower ?
Also, what flooring is in the bathroom?
Thanks,karen
Hi! Thank you so much! We have a large shower with glass doors – I saved a tour on my IG story highlights and will be sharing more photos of the shower area soon. Our flooring is LVP – if you head to the home source post here on the blog I have included all the flooring details for you. Hope that helps! xo, Beth
This looks like a fun renovation! I love the addition of the plant!
Beautiful job! What size is the vanity?
Thank you! It’s 72″ wide 🙂
Hi! Love your bathroom! However, the barn door link doesn’t work. Could you please try to repost it? Thank you!!
Hi! I recently updated the link so it should work now 🙂 Thank you for letting me know!
Love your bathroom design. Can you tell me how wide your vanity is? I tried the link but it shows a 30” and other similar vanities. Thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much! It’s the 72″ the link is updated and if you wait for it to load the exact one should populate.
Hi I love this design. What company makes the Platinum grout color you used for your 3 × 12″ subway tile?
Hi! I used platinum color grout for our previous kitchen and I think most grout brands carry it – I don’t remember the specific one but I think Daltile does have it!
Love the look of your bathroom! Do you have any pictures of the shower?
Hi! I do – I recently added a few more in my before + after home tour that you can access via the main menu 🙂
Hi, love your bathroom. It’s stunning! I am in the middle of our remodel and have the same Trinsic faucets/tub hardware. I was struggling with going with a white or gold framed mirror. If I do the gold, I may have to add some gold elsewhere, such as the pulls on the vanity, but I like your black mirror, especially with those lights.
Anyway, I wanted to ask about those beautiful lights. Are yours rubbed oil rubbed bronze or matte black? I can only find them in the bronze. It’s hard to find much in matte black.
Thanks so much for your time and for sharing pics from your home.
Thank you for your kind words! The rubbed oil bronze is essentially a dark black and looks beautiful – provides contrast. They are my favorite sconces!
Hello! The link to the barn door isn’t working. I would love to know where you found it! Thank you!
Hi! I recently updated the link so it should work now 🙂 Thank you for letting me know!
Kudos on a beautiful reno of your bathroom done in 2018. Do, I hope you get this post. I would have loved too see the rest of your bathroom or toilet, shower, tub. Lovely vanity and we get the picture but would love to see the rest.
Thank you.
Hi! Thank you so very much for your kind words! I recently posted a before + after home tour with more photos of our master bathroom including the toilet and shower area – if you go to the menu you can see the post from the drop down 🙂
Hi! Love this so much! What brand is the platinum tile grout you used for the stacked subway tile? Thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much! I forget the brand – the tile guy just brought what we had however I know platinum is a standard grout color that you should be able to find wit any grout brand 🙂
I love this bathroom. The link for the Barn Door is no longer working, would you be able to repost?
Hi! Yes – thank you so much for letting me know – I updated the link and hopefully it should work now!
I love your bathroom! I’m using it as inspiration for my Master Bathroom renovation. Can you share the white paint color that you used for the bathroom walls.
Hi! Thank you so much for your kind words. We used Sherwin Williams Snowbound for our master bathroom and our entire home. It’s the perfect neutral white with a hint of light grey. Best wishes on your master bathroom renovation!
Beautiful! Using this as inspiration for our bathroom reno. Quick question – what is the tile that you used in front of your fireplace in your previous house? Do you have a link to it? I’d love it for a half bath we are redoing as well. The colors are gorgeous. Thank you!
Thank you! So glad you could find inspiration here! The surround material we used for our previous home fireplace renovation was actually a solid piece of quartz that was a remnant we had fabricated for the fireplace. It gave it such a modern, clean look.
Your bathroom is beautiful! I have a question about your vanity. I love the look of the raised vanity with the legs, I think it makes it look more like a piece of furniture. Is it hard to keep it clean underneath though? I just envision it being really gross up under there. 😂😂😂
Hi! Thank you so much! It wasn’t difficult to keep clean – we ran our flooring underneath and I would occasionally take our vacuum attachment and get under there to grab any dust. But really was never a problem 🙂 It is such a beautiful vanity and super functional.
I love your bathroom! What color paint did you use on your trim?
I love your bathroom. We are in the process of remodeling our master bathroom. I was wondering what color did you paint your baseboard trim?
Hi! Thank you for your kind words – we used pure white from Home Depot. It’s their stock paint – right from their shelves, I think Behr makes it. We used semigloss for the finish.
Absolutely gorgeous! Where did you get your vanity?
…nevermind, I just saw your sources list. I’m totally going to do this to my bathroom. Thank you for sharing.
Hello,
I came across your remodel googling “stacked subway tile”. I’m doing the same in my Brooklyn bathroom! We’re having a hard time finding vanities such as yours that have the knobs/hardware we like because of the pandemic/disrupted production lines! Before I ask our contractor (because I know it’s “not recommended” to replace the hardware): How did you replace the knobs without any damage?!
Hi! So glad you found me! We were able to easily replace the knobs without any issue! It’s something I usually do for every vanity I purchase – love customizing the look. Best wishes on your bathroom remodel! I bet it will be amazing! xo, Beth
I love your mirrors! The link doesn’t open for me. Could you please share the brand and where you got them?
thanks!
Oh bummer! I will update that now – here’s the link: mirror
Thanks for letting me know!
Beautiful bathroom. May I ask what size are the mirrors?
Thank you so much! I believe 24×30 🙂
I love the look of your bathroom! Do you mind sharing the plant’s name in the large clear vase? The link looks like it was a product from Target, which I believe is no longer available, but it looks like a live plant from the photos. So pretty!
Awe thank you! I clipped them from our yard but here’s a stem I use often since it looks so real and it’s pretty in a vase or an arrangement!
Here’s the affiliate link Faux stem I love
