We all know the craziness of Mondays – and the good old song “Just another Manic Monday” doesn’t it just get you in the mood to head back to your weekly routine? Ughhh not me – don’t get me wrong, I love my job but Mondays always feel hectic.
There are a few things I like to do on Sunday to prep for the week ahead. Right now I am digging the vibe of coral and gold right now…I updated my little office nook of our loft to add these pretty colors.
Here are some tips for designing an office space that is functional and pretty
1. Remove all clutter from your desk area – it makes for a more open work space and is less distracting. Here is an option for a pretty and affordable writing desk – it even comes in several different colors, you can find it here from Wayfair for only $148.99!
2. Add fresh or faux florals – depending on my week I will add either fresh or as in this picture, I added gorgeous real looking faux florals from Home Goods.
3. Invest in a pretty desk lamp – it will really step-up your desk game – you don’t have to spend a fortune, you can find affordable options at Target like mine (which unfortunately is out of stock – but hopefully will be back in stock soon) it can be found here and another option here.
4. Always have your inspiration front and center – mine just happens to be my hubby and kiddos who I framed in this adorable frame from Marshalls. Here is a pretty option from Wayfair that you can find here.
5. Notepads and cute folders help to keep papers organized & labeled – I like to find mine at Target & Home Goods but you can also find options here and here. This adorable gold polka dot planner is awesome, you can find it here.
6. Adding a cute chair & lumbar pillow provides a cozy touch, you can find ones similar to mine here and here.
7. Add cute touches that speak to your heart – like this adorable heart shaped paper weight I found and cute gold polka dot bowl to store paper clips and memory sticks – other cute bowl options can be found here.
8. I like to organize my mail, papers, kid’s school work, and sort through emails on Sunday since during the week I don’t have much time to do so. I put everything in folders and label them. It reduces clutter around our home. I love these decorative folders that you can find here.
9. Make a note of what activities, meetings, and events you have in the week ahead.
10. Take a moment to enjoy and thank yourself! You are getting yourself ready to tackle a new week.
