Spring Loft Refresh
Spring fever has hit our home and I’ve been busy refreshing every space one at a time. Organizing, purging, donating, and adding little touches of spring everywhere.
Along with my spring fever I’ve been bitten by the “I need to move my furniture around bug” Lol! I know you feel my pain – the struggle is real!! Sometimes I am amazed how just moving a sofa or table around can make a BIG impact to a space.
So get comfy and enjoy a favorite beverage while reading along – I’m joining 14 fabulous bloggers, sharing our spring updates & refreshed spaces – hope you enjoy!
In the middle of my spring fever I decided to tackle our loft — moving around the furniture placement, adding new decor and giving it a much needed spring refresh.
Here were the issues:
1. It lacked an identity (what was it? A gathering space? Toy storage?) the problem was it was a mish mash of items without purpose.
2. It was missing wall decor. Wall decor can make a statement to any room and our loft was missing that!
3. It was missing a pop of color & pattern. Don’t get me wrong I love a neutral space but it’s nice to add a pop of color, pattern, & pretty spring greenery.
Last summer we painted the loft and hallway a pretty light grey which made a huge difference. I focused on decorating other rooms in our home first, tackling the loft was last on my list. It’s the first room you see when you go upstairs in our home so I wanted to make it refreshed and pretty.
Before:Here is a picture before the new paint & lighting (when we first purchased the home almost 3 years ago)
In-progress:
Here is “in progress” picture after repainting last summer – not bad but remember those 3 items above:)
The cute hello pillow can be found here at Nordstrom Rack.
What do you think of the transformation? Using what I had in our home saved money so I could stick to a budget. Now the space has function and an identity! It provides an office space, place for reading & relaxing, extra toy storage, watching TV, or on many nights you can find our family having a fun dance party here! So much fun!
Curious about the budget breakdown? See details below.
